Food at the University of Washington

WELCOME! to the 74 new students in the new Food Exploration Community in Mercer Court Apartments

Opened this autumn, Mercer Court will provide opportunities for small group living in shared apartments. The apartments are open during academic break periods, which make them ideal for students who wish to remain on campus. Mercer Court is conveniently located in the vibrant West Campus community close the University District’s Ave. and the Burke-Gilman Trail. Residents also have access to all of our West Campus Amenities.

The first plantings of herbs, fruit trees, and vegetables were put in at Mercer Court on August 21, in preparation for Fall Quarter!

Welcome our new Farm Manager, Sarah Geurkink!

Foodie Faculty

Faculty across campus departments and schools study and teach about food, agriculture, and the implications of our global food system. Learn more about these faculty and their participation in Food at UW.

We’ve compiled a list of the best in food courses from across all three campuses of the UW. These classes will ask new questions, inspire new ideas, and get you involved in food!
